Digital Diary Entry: Glow Aesthetics by Kate – Why I Love What I Do as a Cosmetic Nurse

Hello, everyone,

I wanted to take a moment today to reflect on something that brings me deep fulfillment—why I love what I do as a cosmetic nurse. It’s a question I get asked every so often, and I thought this would be the perfect time to share my thoughts.

Being a cosmetic nurse is more than just a job for me—it’s a passion, a purpose, and a career I feel truly aligned with. Here’s why I feel fortunate to do this work every day:

1. The Connection with Clients

What stands out most in my work is the personal connection I form with each client. It’s never just about treatments—it’s about understanding your individual goals and priorities. I value being someone you can trust and turn to for guidance.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of seeing many clients return time and time again. Some of you have been with me since the beginning of Glow Aesthetics, and it has been a privilege to witness your transformations and journeys unfold.

2. Constant Learning and Growth

The aesthetic field is constantly evolving, which keeps me motivated and engaged. New treatments, technologies, and techniques are always emerging, and staying at the forefront of this progress is something I take seriously.

From advanced injectables to skin treatments like Rejuran, I’m continually refining my skills and expanding my knowledge so I can provide the safest and most effective care.

3. Being Part of a Growing Industry

The beauty and aesthetics industry continues to grow and shift in exciting ways. I’m proud to be part of a space that encourages people to embrace their natural features and explore ways to care for themselves with intention and confidence.

This field is not just about appearance—it’s about progress, professionalism, and helping individuals align how they look with how they want to feel.

At its core, this work is about creating an environment where you can feel informed, supported, and confident in your decisions.

Thank you for trusting me to be part of your journey. I'm proud to walk beside you through it.

With appreciation,
Kate

Digital Diary Entry: Glow Aesthetics by Kate – A Week in Ocean Grove & Vic School Holidays

Hello everyone,

I just got back from a relaxing week away in Ocean Grove with my family, and I have to say—it was exactly what we needed. With the busy pace at Glow Aesthetics and the Victorian school holidays in full swing, this time to unplug and enjoy the beauty of the coast was just what the doctor (or in this case, the nurse!) ordered.

Ocean Grove – Coastal Magic
If you haven’t been to Ocean Grove, it’s definitely worth a visit. The beaches, the laid-back vibe, and the stunning views make it such a peaceful and rejuvenating place. We spent our days soaking up the sun, strolling along the shore, and taking in the calming sound of the waves. Ocean Grove offers the perfect balance of relaxation and adventure.

Family Time
With three energetic boys in tow, there was no shortage of excitement. Between exploring local cafés, visiting the markets, and swimming in the beautiful waters, the boys had a blast. One of the highlights of the trip was simply spending uninterrupted quality time as a family. The school holidays always remind me to slow down and appreciate the little moments—whether it’s laughing together, sharing stories, or just enjoying the simplicity of being with each other.

Self-Care on the Go
Even though I was on holiday, I didn’t forget about my skin. SPF was essential, especially with all the time outdoors, and I made sure to stick to my usual hydration routine. The sun, sea, and saltwater can be refreshing for the soul but can also be tough on your skin, so I kept my skincare simple and nourishing. Pro tip: while on the go, a hydrating face mist is a great way to keep your skin feeling fresh after a day by the beach.

Feeling Recharged
I feel much more recharged after this week away. Sometimes a change of scenery is exactly what you need to reset and find new energy. The best part? Coming home with a heart full of gratitude for family, health, and all the wonderful people in the Glow Aesthetics community. I’m back now, ready to continue helping you look and feel your best as we finish the year strong. I’m definitely carrying that sense of peace and appreciation into the month ahead.

I hope you’re all finding time to unwind and recharge, whether it’s during these school holidays or just a quiet moment at home. Self-care and family time are so important—make sure you’re carving out that time for yourself.

If your skin feels like it needs a post-school-holidays refresh, you’re not alone. Sun, saltwater, and all that running around can take a toll. Now’s the perfect time to treat yourself to some skin TLC. Skin needling is one of my favourite treatments to improve texture and bring your skin back to its happiest, healthiest state. If you’re ready to refresh and rejuvenate your skin, I’d love to see you in clinic. Book an appointment with me and let’s get your skin back on track.

With love and coastal vibes,
Kate

Digital Diary Entry: Glow Aesthetics by Kate – My Favorite Skincare Routine

Good morning, everyone,

Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about skincare routines that really work—and how important it is to stick with what keeps your skin balanced, hydrated, and healthy. While I love introducing new treatments at Glow Aesthetics by Kate, I also believe that great skin starts with a solid everyday routine. I’ve got a few go-to products that I truly rely on.

Here’s a peek at my daily skincare routine, including two absolute essentials I swear by: SPF and water.

  1. Cleanser
I start my morning with a gentle, hydrating cleanser. This step is key for removing any dirt or oils that build up overnight, without stripping my skin’s natural moisture. I prefer something that leaves my face feeling fresh but never tight.

  2. Toner
Next, I use a toner to balance my skin’s pH and prepare it for the next steps. The one I use has a bit of glycolic acid for gentle exfoliation—nothing too harsh. My goal is smooth skin without dryness or irritation.

  3. Vitamin C Serum
I never skip this step. Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that brightens the complexion and helps protect against environmental damage. It also refreshes the skin’s appearance.

  4. Moisturiser
Moisturising is essential, even for oily skin (yes, oily skin still needs moisture). I use a lightweight, hydrating moisturiser that keeps my skin plump and smooth. Locking in all the benefits from the previous steps is important, so this one’s a must.

  5. SPF – The Game-Changer
This is the most important step. Every day, rain or shine, I apply a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher. UV rays cause premature aging and skin damage, so protecting your skin is crucial. I use a lightweight, non-comedogenic sunscreen that absorbs quickly and leaves no residue. Think of it as a shield for your skin—never skip it.

Tip: I like moisturisers with SPF built in for convenience, but if I’m spending extended time outdoors, I apply a separate layer of sunscreen for extra protection.

  1. Water, Water, Water
And of course—water! Hydration is critical both inside and out. Drinking water throughout the day keeps my skin plump, flushes out toxins, and supports overall health. I aim for 2-3 liters daily, adjusting for activity, and my skin definitely benefits from it.

Bonus: Nighttime Routine
At night, I usually skip the Vitamin C and opt for a richer moisturiser or a nourishing night cream. Sometimes I add a few drops of facial oil if my skin feels dry, especially in colder months. Extra hydration overnight really helps.

That’s my go-to routine. Sticking to these basics—with products that suit your skin—makes a real difference. Life gets busy, but focusing on essentials like a good cleanser, SPF, and hydration sets you up for healthier skin in the long run.

Do you have a favorite part of your routine? Or a product you swear by? Let me know—I’d love to hear what works for you!

Until next time,
Kate
